My name is Justin Hook. I'm an aspiring writer.
Education: As of January 2009, I'll have a B.S. in Film and Television and a B.A. in American and New England Studies from Boston University, which I attended on a National Merit Scholarship.
Work: You can find out more about my writing by clicking here, or about my web design by clicking here. I've also worked in web/IT capacities for Harvard Business School, Boston University's Office of New Media, and for author and critic Ray Carney. I also did some web stuff and photography for YMCA Camp Hayo-Went-Ha, where I was a camp counselor for several years. For more information or to obtain my résumé, please contact me.
I'm an avid fan of films, music, and TV, and would love to have a conversation with you about any of it. As long as you're not in to crap.
Though most of my writing is unpublished, I try to get some of it out there. Much of it goes into BU Tonight and Microwave Tinfoil. Here's some of the other stuff.
Additionally...
Microwave Tinfoil is a comedy web series created by myself and developed with Michael Ponterotto, produced entirely by BU College of Communication students. During the 2007-2008 school year, we produced 5 episodes, averaging about 4 minutes in length. I write and star in each episode.
BU Tonight is the late-night comedy talk show of Boston University. It is produced entirely by a team of approximately 40 students, mostly from the College of Communication. I began as a writer in 2005, became Head Writer in 2007, and served as Executive Producer in 2008.
I do work as a web designer, making use of modern, standards-compliant, web-friendly coding techniques. I am proficient in (x)HTML, CSS, Javascript (including sIFR, jQuery, script.aculo.us, etc.), Dreamweaver, and am capaable with PHP, Flash, and CMS systems. Contact me if you're interested in my services.
These are the artists I listened to the most on my computer this week. Should refresh every Monday.
